I offer domestic oil servicing, repairs and installation within an approximate 25 min radius of Thaxted, Essex.

Inspect Oil Storage Tank

Replace oil filter element.

Check operation of remote fire valve.

Fully remove & clean baffles and clean fire-box of soot deposits.

Replace burner nozzle.

Replace one flexible oil line* (if expiry date is before next service).

Clean & Set ignition electrodes.
-
Set oil pump pressure.
-
Analyse and Set combustion mixture.

Check emergency shut-off safety function.

Provide full OFTEC service report.

Leave area clean and tidy.

* An additional flexible oil line (used with TigerLoop installations) is not included within the 'fixed price' and is a chargeable item at £15.
Occasionally fire valves do fail when tested. Unfortunately, fitting a replacement is not covered in the service cost.

look after 'My Customers'. Employ me for your annual servicing and (other than making sure you don't run out of oil) you can then forget about your boiler. I'll remind you when the next service is due and should you ever have a breakdown emergency I will give you priority.

Please note: Occasionally fire valves do breakdown and fail to re-set when tested. Fitting a replacement is not covered in the Service Cost and fitting a replacement is charged at £65 plus the cost of the fire valve.
Any additional worn or damaged items which are replaced at the time of the service are charged at cost. Where possible fitting is generally included in the service cost - unless it's a big job and/or a return visit is required.
Servicing

I do not charge to come out to provide an estimate. I will get to you as soon as I can, or at a convenient time for us both and I will provide you with an estimate for your consideration. A Call Out Charge may apply to 'Out of Hours' call outs (see right), though I will confirm my fees and any charge before I attend.

Parts & Consumables are charged within a few £'s of cost. You are paying for my labour and expertise not my ability to get a discount from my suppliers.

I will always offer you my best advice regarding fault repairs and where possible will advise you of the different options available. I will help you make the best decision for YOU (not steer you towards what is easiest or most profitable for me).

I will charge you honestly and fairly for the work that we agree.

All my work is guaranteed (unless specified), I am fully insured and all work is properly documented.

I will work cleanly and efficiently, not treating your home as a building site. I always work as efficiently as possible as I want to keep your custom and therefore I want to keep your bill as low as possible.
* Out of Hours Call Out Charge (7pm - 7am)
From 7pm to 7am if you need me to come out urgently I charge a £125 Call Out Fee which includes my first hour on site. After this first hour I charge £35 per half an hour.
Rest assured, I will tell you if it might be cheaper for me to make a temporary repair and return to carry out a proper repair for you. I definitely will not be swanning around at £35 a half hour while your bill steadily climbs.
